The U.S. Department of Justice said Conrad Alvin Barrett, 27, was arrested Thursday in the Nov. 24 incident, in which he is accused of punching a 79-year-old black man who was hospitalized for treatment of two jaw fractures.

600 brawl [PHOTOS\VIDEO], Police in Jacksonville, Fla., say made five arrests after more than 600 people got into a brawl in the parking lot of a movie theater.
The 600-person brawl broke out in the Regal River City Marketplace theater parking lot around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, WJXT-TV, Jacksonville, reported.

Children die in mobile home fire louisiana [VIDEO], A fire in a mobile home in Houma, louisiana, caused three children to die and injured seven others, fire officials said.
The fire took place early Wednesday in the mobile home and killed a 13-year-old girl and her brothers, who were 11 and 12, WWL-TV, New Orleans, reported.
Seven others are hospitalized, including the children's father, who is in critical condition after running back into the burning home to help his children.

at the airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, just as the plane was
about to take off on Sunday night.
The accident at Tambo airport late Sunday night was caused by the airliner using the wrong taxi way which was too narrow for the passenger jet, the South African Civil Aviation Authority said Monday.
Air traffic control had told the flight crew of the British Airways Boeing 747-400 departing for London to use a specific taxi way, said SACAA spokeswoman Phindiwe Gwebu in a statement.

Rape victim kicked off team [PHOTO\VIDEO], A former UConn female hockey player has joined a federal civil rights lawsuit that alleges the school mishandled allegations of sexual assaults on campus.
The female said that she was kicked off the team after reporting that she was raped by a male hockey player in August 2011.

Cleveland teen killed on icy highway [PHOTOS\VIDEO], Cleveland teen killed in wreck blamed on an icy highway. A 16-year-old Cleveland teenager was killed early Saturday on an icy highway due to a weather-related one-vehicle crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
The Cleveland teenager, Brock Lynn Norton, was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m. at Saint Francis Hospital, according to the report.

Broncos stabbings arrest [VIDEO], Following the Broncos 27-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football, there were multiple stabbings in the parking lot at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
The victims were transported to area hospitals. Twenty-nine-year-old Justin Manzanares has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing four people.
Manzanares was held on three counts of aggravated assault stemming from a knife fight that occurred outside on Thursday night, Denver police Sergeant Steve Warneke said. Go here for more and the video.

Oldest U.S. WWII vets [PHOTO, VIDEO]; No atheists in foxholes, or even 50 years later. For sixty years, Richard Overton and Elmer Hill lived four hours away from each other in Central Texas.
They drove the same highways, crisscrossed the same towns and shouldered the same Texas droughts and freezes, never knowing that they shared a remarkably similar history. Overton and Hill are both 107 years old, both native Texans and both African American veterans of World War II who fought Japanese forces in the Pacific.

Ethel Anderson, 29, has been found guilty of having sex with a 12-year-old student has been sentenced to 38 years in prison today.

Teen dies on Delta flight [VIDEO], A 16-year-old boy died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency aboard a Delta Air Lines jetliner en route from Seattle to Atlanta, authorities said.

Three bodies found Connecticut [PHOTO/VIDEO], Police in Connecticut said they were investigating Sunday after three women were killed and a suspect took his own life in Manchester.
The shootings happened sometime after 9 p.m. Saturday, WFSB, Hartford, Conn., reported.
