Single malt scotch record [PHOTO\VIDEO] sale in Hong Kong, A rare bottle
containing Macallan Whiskey, recently sold at auction for a record price
of $628,205. Auction House Sotheby's in Hong Kong was charged with
overseeing the sale and had only expected to bring somewhere in the
neighborhood of $250,000 to $516,000 for the six-liter bottle.
More than 1 billion bottles of whiskey left Scottish
shores for overseas markets last year -- an amount equivalent to about
90 percent of total Scotch sales -- says the Scotch Whisky Association.
