World leaders react to shooting in Conn.[PHOTOS/VIDEO], Images of a tearful US President Barack Obama speaking after a shooting
rampage in Connecticut resonated around the world, with many outside
America expressing hope Saturday that the nation's latest school
massacre would prompt the country to strengthen gun control.
A
tearful Obama said that as a father, he's grieving for the victims.
During White House remarks, Obama wiped his eyes and had to pause for
several seconds to keep his composure. He said, "Our hearts are broken
today" over the deaths of "beautiful, little kids" who "had their entire
lives ahead of them."
Sympathy as well as shock have been the
initial reactions to the rampage that left 28 people dead, including 20
