Australian Joan of Shark

Australian Joan of Shark [PHOTO\VIDEO],  A 16-foot-long Australian great white shark closed beaches in Albany, West Australia recently, where public debate is still raging over the state's shark-culling policies.

Researchers think "Joan of Shark," as the locals have named her, swam close to shore in search of a distressed whale calf. In a widely distributed photo, scientists attached an electronic tag to track her movements.

The 16-foot-long monster female carnivore weighs approximately 1.6 tons and is the largest of its kind. Go here for more including photo and video.
